Carrol Hall

Carrol Elvin Hall, age 88, of Hot Springs, AR died Friday, January 8, 2010. He was born on April 22, 1921 in the community of Antioch (near Malvern), AR to Eugene and Mattie Efird Hall. Carrol married Imogene Wilson of Horatio, AR on December 6, 1941 in Richmond, TX just one day before Pearl Harbor was bombed. He served in the Unties States Navy on the USS PC 589 as a motor machinist during World War II. The Halls spent the early years of their marriage in Galveston, TX and Little Rock, AR and later settled in Malvern, AR where they resided for 38 years. They moved to Hot Springs, AR in September 2003. Carrol worked for many years as an auto mechanic and was later employed by Teletype Corporation (AT&T) in Little Rock, AR for 25 years. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Carrol is survived by one son, Richard Hall and his wife Patricia of Conway; two daughters, Joyce Coston and her husband David of Hot Springs and Carolyn Muns and her husband Rick of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, David A. Coston and his wife Pam of Malvern, Daren Hall and his wife April of Conway, Nicole Turpen and her husband Gene of Hot Springs, Nathan Hall and his wife Hilary of Hot Springs, and Aaron Hall of Hot Springs; six great-grandchildren, Sydney Phillips and her husband Dustin of Donaldson, Kristin Hall and Erica Hall of Conway; Blair Turpen, Justin Turpen, and Ethan Turpen of Hot Springs; three sisters-in-law, Laverne Sealy and her husband Adron of Malvern, Mary Belle Wilson of Malvern, and Inez Cobb of DeQueen. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Carrol was preceded in death by his faithful wife of 63 years, Imogene; his parents, Eugene and Mattie Hall; a son, James Elvin Hall; and four brothers Marvin, Kenneth, Merle, and Clifford Hall. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Atkinson Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Hall and Ron Ray officiating. Pallbearers will be David A. Coston, Daren Hall, Nathan Hall, Aaron Hall, David E. Coston, and Rick Muns. Interment will be in Antioch cemetery in the Antioch community.
