Edl. C. Beard

Eld. James C. Beard, age 67, of Malvern passed away Friday, August 15, 2008, at a local hospital. He was born May 10, 1941 in Malvern, Arkansas to Oscar Franklin Beard and Francise Lucile Galloway Beard. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country from 1959-1963. He worked for 23 years at Jacuzzi Brothers in Little Rock, and was a former mechanic and bus driver for Glen Rose Schools. He also worked as a mechanic for CADC, where he worked on Scat buses. He was a member of Fairplay Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of Rockport Lodge #58, a member of York Rite Body and of the Eastern Star. James was a Missionary Baptist Minister for over 40 years, and pastored different churches including, Bethel MBC in Little Rock, AR, Social Hill MBC in Benton, AR, New Prospect MBC in Benton, AR, Landmark MBC in Traskwood, AR, Liberty Hill MBC in Delight, AR, Lake Park MBC in Florida, Flippo Chapel MBC in Pleasant Plains, AR, Westwood MBC in Mississippi, Union Chapel MBC in Strong, AR, Harp MBC in Malvern, AR, and Landmark MBC in Malvern, AR. He loved to garden and give away his produce. He especially loved to witness to people about his Lord. He is survived by: His wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Pearl Floyd Beard of Malvern, AR One Son, Dr. Michael Ray Beard and wife, Natalie of Benton, AR One Daughter, Cheryl Louann Tieaskie and husband, Tim of Hot Springs, AR 2 Brothers, Franklin Eugene Beard and wife, Erika of Malvern, AR Eld. Donald Ray Beard and wife, Louise of Seminary, MS 3 Sisters, Lenora Jane Bell of Malvern, AR Francise Aline Abbott and husband, Floyd of Malvern, AR Nancy Carolyn Millsaps and husband, Willie of Pleasant Plains, AR 1 Grandson, Logan Timothy Tieaskie, "Papa's Big Man" 2 Step-Granddaughters, Nicole and Ariana Tieaskie 1 Step-Grandson, Will Tieaskie A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Fairplay Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Robbie Horne, Brother John Penn, and Brother Keith Holland officiating. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairplay Cemetery with Military Honors by the United States Navy Honors Detail and Masonic Rites by Masonic Lodge #58.
