Gerald Bruni

Gerald "Jerry" R. Bruni, 79, of Hot Springs Village passed away on Tuesday, January 03, 2012 at a local hospital. Jerry was born July 09, 1932 in Monroe, Wisconsin to Edwin and Roberta (Steinman) Bruni. He graduated from Janesville High School in 1950. Attended College and graduated from The Wisconsin Institute of Mortuary Science. He was licensed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer by the state if Wisconsin in 1954, he also holds a License from the Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards of the United States Inc. He owned and operated the Bruni Funeral Home in Edgerton, WI. Jerry was the past President of Edgerton Rotary-Police and Fire Commission, Edgerton Jaycees, St. John's Lutheran Church. He was also Secretary/Treasurer of the Edgerton Bowling League for 15 years. A member of the Edgerton Chamber, Edgerton Volunteer Fire Department, active in Bowling and Softball. Married to Virginia A. Halvorson April 15, 1982 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Jerry was active in the Boy Scouts, having taught them beading and art work and also Indian Dancing, having performed with them in the Milwaukee Auditorium. He was also an Eagle Scout with 2 psalms and a member of Order of The Arrow. They moved to Hot Springs Village in 1984. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church serving on the Columbarium Commission and also on the Endowment Commission. He and his wife Ginny owned and operated A Liquor World for over 18 years. He is survived by daughter Kathleen Hanson of Janesville, WI; 2 sons: David of Edgerton, WI; Philip (Connie) of Ft. Atkinson, WI; 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. 3 step-daughters: Debora Burkheimer of Foster, CO; Cheryl (Roger) Johnson of Juda, WI; Barbara Stuessy of Kenosha, WI; 4 step-sons: Steve Eldred of HSV, AR; Randall Eldred of Brooklyn, WI; Gary Eldred of Janesville, WI; David Eldred of Monroe, WI; 20 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren. 1 brother, Edwin Bruni of Waldo, WI; 1 sister, Barbara Kloppel of Fon Du Lac, WI; 1 brother in law, Thomas (Kris) Halvorson of Buffalo, NY. He is preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife Mary Bruni and his 2nd wife Virginia Bruni. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, January 07, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village. Memorials can be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
